Main Drain Snaking and Clog Assessment
|
Several slow fixtures or a backup at a low opening can suggest a restriction in their common drain path. Note which fixtures are involved and stop adding water during a backup. Those symptoms need assessment before assuming a blockage location or choosing a cable entry.
Assess the main drain and suitable access A snake works through suitable material with a cable or auger. Hydro jetting instead uses high-pressure water; discuss that comparison with the provider, which assesses access and pipe conditions before recommending a method. Check the result after clearing After clearing, discuss how flow will be checked and what remains unknown. Water passing again does not explain every repeat clog. Avoid adding chemical cleaners to standing wastewater; give the provider the names of products already used. Discuss drain clearing options and explain the blocked fixtures, standing water, and any earlier clearing attempts. |
